LodeIron Motor Co. manufactures brushless outrunner motors for drone and UAS propulsion in Ruidoso, New Mexico, USA. Motors are machined, wound, assembled, and tested in one building. Every unit is serialized, dynamically balanced, and run on a dynamometer, and its measured results are recorded against its serial number rather than published as a single family claim.
The 2812 family is a brushless outrunner for multirotor propulsion on 6S packs, offered in three winds: 930KV for 7 to 8 inch propellers, 810KV for 8 to 10 inch propellers, and 725KV for 9 to 10 inch propellers. All three share the same housing, 5 mm shaft, 6 x 12 x 4 mm shielded bearings, and M3 mounting on 19 mm hole spacing. Bells and bases are 7075-T6 aluminum.
Motors are offered in two lines. The commercial line uses the best available components. The federal line is built to a DFARS-traceable bill of materials with documented component origin, for agency, program, and grant-funded work.
Where are LodeIron motors made? In Ruidoso, New Mexico, USA, at 204 Sudderth Drive. Machining, winding, assembly, balancing, and dynamometer testing are all performed in that building.
Is LodeIron a domestic manufacturer of drone motors? Yes. LodeIron was founded specifically because American-made brushless motors in this size class were not available to buy.
What documentation ships with a motor? Each motor carries a laser marked serial and scan code. Scanning it brings up that unit's dynamometer run, measured balance result, electrical checks, and material traceability, with a signed PDF available to download. Federal line orders also ship with a printed, signed certificate of conformance in the box.
Are LodeIron motors NDAA compliant? The federal line is built to meet the sourcing requirements that programs in this space are held to and ships with supporting documentation. Requirements vary by program and contract clause.
Is LodeIron shipping product? Not yet as of August 2026. The 2812 design is frozen and first articles are on the bench. The company is in conversation with integrators ahead of the first production run.
Where does LodeIron ship? Within the United States. International inquiries are handled case by case through a quoted order rather than an online cart.
